FAQ
Quick answers about sending a fax online.
General FAQ
- How much does it cost to send a fax online?
- Onetime Fax charges $5 for up to 100 pages. Larger documents are billed at $0.05 per additional page. See the pricing page.
- Can I send an international fax?
- Yes. Enter the full international number with a country code (for example: +44 for the UK). Pricing is the same as domestic. See international faxing and the country codes list.
- Is online faxing secure?
- It can be. Use a reputable service with encryption in transit, verify the recipient number carefully, and avoid public Wi‑Fi for sensitive documents. For deeper guidance, see fax security.
- Do I need my own fax number to send a fax?
- Usually no. To send a fax you typically only need the recipient’s fax number. Receiving faxes is a separate feature some providers offer.
- Does Onetime Fax store my documents?
- Files are handled for transmission and delivery confirmation. For privacy-sensitive use cases, always review the service’s data-handling and retention policy and delete local copies after you send.
- What file formats are supported?
- PDF is the most reliable format for faxing. If you’re starting from photos or Word docs, convert them to a single PDF so pages stay in order.
- Do I get delivery confirmation?
- Yes, you’ll receive an email confirmation when your fax is delivered (or an error if it fails).
- Can I create a cover page?
- Yes—Onetime Fax includes a built-in cover page generator. For regulated documents, keep the cover page minimal and avoid unnecessary sensitive data.
- How do I contact support?
- Email help@onetimefax.com. Typical response time is within 1 business day.
